I transcribed, translated, and subtitled an episode of the Chinese cartoon "Ming and King Cat" (小明和王猫). By using speech-to-text APIs, I reduced the transcription workload by approximately 40%. During the translation process, I encountered challenges with "untranslatable" content. While some nuances and subtle meanings may not be fully conveyed through translation, it is crucial for translators to strive to capture both the essence and the overall vibe of the original material.

The process included text extraction, translation, text replacement, etc. I also tried to conncet the developers! However, due to font problems, we failed to localize it! In 2022, I led a team of 5 students to internationalize a traditional Chinese cartoon into English, including translation, dubbing, recomposition and voiceover! In 2020, I led a team to shoot a promotional video for our BA program (Translation and Localization), which is the final project for one of our courses! We scratched from 0 - conceiving, shooting, editing, dubbing, etc. I conceived this video, and shoot some scenes, and used Adobe AE to create a fancy opening. The rest of the video is edited by Adobe PR. It's a fabulous one!

Managed 4 different language pairs at the same time.

This experience allowed me learn more about project and vendor management, as well as quality assurance from the vendor's side. I also developed an Auto-PO-Generation tool with Python for the team to automate this boring and repetitive process.

A Comparitive Research on Human and Machine Translation, Take The Three-Body Probelm as an Example
This is my first time to conduct a research on my own - it's naive and has many deficiencies. For example, the tools for analyzing Chinese and English use different algorithms, so the result can be inaccurate unless I develop a tool on my own; also, the nuances of translation are hard to obeserve using programs unless I train a language model.
